Inspiration For Guitarists

Here’s a wild thought:

If you practiced guitar for just 15 minutes a day, you’d rack up over 90 hours in a year.

That’s not a throwaway number. That’s real progress. And honestly? It’s more than most guitar players will ever put in consistently.

Most folks either dabble without direction or fall off the wagon completely. But if you can carve out 15 focused minutes a day, you're on a totally different path—one that leads somewhere real.

Because here’s the truth: consistent, focused practice compounds.

Every minute you spend today makes tomorrow’s practice easier, more musical, more fun.

The key is focusing on the right stuff. If you want to make the most of your 15 minutes, start with the 3 essential skills every guitarist should learn:

  1. What chords belong together in a key – This is the number system. It helps you understand songs, write your own, and get fluent in music.

  2. How to play those chords all over the neck – That’s the CAGED system… or if you prefer my simplified approach, the AED system.

  3. How to solo anywhere on the neck in any key – That’s what I call the Landmark Pentatonic system. Once you get it, everything opens up.

Practicing these 3 essential skills provides a great foundation for any style of music and is time well spent!

If you're practicing at random, it's easy to feel stuck. But if you focus even a small amount of time on the right skills, you’ll see real progress—and it’ll build faster than you think.

So yeah—15 minutes doesn’t sound like much. But do it daily, and it stacks up into something powerful.

You’ve got this.
